After School Care
Sunnybrook School has a tradition of providing a relaxed, friendly environment for students whose families require a longer day. Between 4:00 and 6:00 pm our After Care program provides a supervised and fun end of the school day for our students. They are free to play, do homework, and socialize with other students and the supervising adults. Students can be enrolled in after care full time or on an occasional basis.
JK and SK
After Care for this age group is a peaceful time of the day which begins in the JK room, including ʻtea timeʼ (snack) and a story. The school provides sandwiches, fruit and milk. At 5:00 p.m. students will join Grades 1 - 6 with our After Care staff, either on the playground or indoors.
Grades 1 - 6
After Care begins on the playground at 4:00 pm. During the Fall and Spring, students in the After Care Program will remain on the playground until 6:00 pm weather permitting. In the winter, Grades 1 – 6 begin on the playground until 4:30 pm when they come indoors. Students may participate in clubs before joining the After Care group at 5:00 pm.
Our Homework Studio is available to students in grades 1 – 6. Students meet in the library on Mondays, Wednesdays and Thursdays from 3:50 to 4:30 pm. Our teacher-librarian supervises and assists where needed during homework studio, while fostering a nurturing environment for students working independently.
